Man Runs from Officers, Locks Himself at Home, Police Say

Police recognized the man from prior contacts and realized there was a warrant for his arrest before he took off.

While he was full of denial, this Saukville man is eventually not going to be able to continue to escape the law.

Officers spotted the 30-year-old Saukville man at 8:51 p.m. July 12 near the Tri-Par Gas Station, according to police reports. Officers recognized the man because they have had numerous encounters with him; he is also on probation with alcohol restrictions and there was a warrant for his arrest through Wisconsin Department of Community Corrections.

Officers spoke to the man in the parking lot of the gas station; he denied having been drinking even though he was carrying an 18 pack of Budweiser, according to police reports. He refused a preliminary breath test.

As police were confirming the warrant with dispatch, the man took off running down Center Street and into his residence in the 100 block of North Dries Street, police reports said.  The man then locked all the doors and refused to answer when Police knocked.

Officers forwarded a request for charges against the man to the Ozaukee County District Attorney’s Office for resisting/obstructing an officer.
