Milwaukee Man Charged with Sixth OWI After Being Caught by Port Police

Police discovered the man was driving while intoxicated after finding his car parked in a vacant lot with synthetic marijuana inside.

A 40-year-old Milwaukee man is facing his sixth drunk driving charge and multiple other charges after a Port Washington police officer noticed synthetic marijuana inside his car on Oct. 22.

Scott A. Siems was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court Monday with one count of a sixth offense operating while intoxicated, one count of concealing stolen property, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to nearly seven years in prison and $20,500 in fines.

At 1:15 a.m. Oct. 22, a Port Washington police officer noticed Siems’ car parked in a vacant lot near South Milwaukee Street and West Morgan Street with containers of synthetic marijuana inside. The officer was discussing the car with another officer when they saw Siems drive the car up to another parking area and get out.

He told officers he had been fishing and needed to move his car in order to transport some large fish. When asked about the synthetic marijuana, Siems told police it belonged to his friend.

Inside the car, police also discovered two used syringes and a burnt metal spoon, along with a stolen license plate.

Siems was previously convicted of operating while intoxicated twice in 1990, and once in 1992, 1994 and 2001. He is currently being held in Ozaukee County Jail on a $5,000 cash bail.
