Missing Gas Cap Sparks Call to Police
The person reported the cap missing and a gritty substance around the opening to the gas line on a vehicle parked in the marina.
Port Washington police were called to the marina last week after a driver believed their car was tampered with.
The caller said the gas cap was removed from a vehicle parked in the marina at 1:35 p.m. Aug. 5, according to police reports. There was also a gritty substance inside the opening to the gas line.
Police had no further information about what may have happened.
