Ozaukee County Woman Killed in I-43 Crash on Tuesday

Wisconsin Department of Transportation State Patrol officials are still investigating the fatal accident involving the pedestrian.

The pedestrian killed on Interstate 43 on Tuesday has been identified as Katherine Weiss of Mequon.

Weiss had been driving her 2010 Ford Expedition northbound on I-43, when she pulled onto the shoulder, according to a release from Wisconsin Department of Transportation State Patrol. She exited her vehicle and started walking on the interstate, when she was struck by a box truck that was traveling northbound on I-43. Weiss was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials are still investigating the crash. 

The interstate's northbound lanes at Pioneer Road were closed for roughly two hours Tuesday.
