PD: Fists Fly in Group Bar Fight Downtown

After taking a shot together, several patrons were involved in a fight.

Several patrons were involved in an ongoing bar fight after taking a shot together.

Port Washington police were made aware of the incident after one man involved showed up at the department to report that he had been assaulted at 2:42 a.m. March 9, according a police report. The man had a cut on his chin and a bloody nose, but declined medical help.

Officers asked the man what happened, and he began to describe the man that had punched him, the report said. Shortly thereafter, the officer saw someone that matched that man's description running outside the police department, shouting, "What are you going to do about it β€” come on."

The man then started running in the direction of Sir James Pub, where the incident had taken place, the report said. The officer responded to that area, and found the man as well as several patrons.

The group eventually explained that they had taken a shot together while at Sir James Pub, and shortly after the woman had went to the bathroom to puke, the report said. Comments were made about her inability to handle her alcohol, and then punches started to fly.
