PD: Granddaughter Scammer Attempts to Strike Again

A roundup of recent police activity also includes a car struck with paintballs, a missing dog and a man mad about being kicked out.

Other area residents have fallen victim to such scam calls, but this resident would not be fooled.

Police received a call at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday about a female who had called a resident claiming to be the resident's granddaughter, according to police reports. The caller said she was in the Dominican Republic and needed $980.

The resident confirmed that his daughter was in school in Oostburg, and no money was lost, the report said.
