PD: Man Spits on Car After Asked to Stop Digging in Garbage

A roundup of recent activity from the police blotter also includes a car crash with a post and stolen construction materials.

A man who continually digs through the garbage at Mad Max Convenience Store, 1100 S. Spring St., clearly did not like when store employees asked him to stop.

Port Washington police were called to the business at 7:46 a.m. Thursday in reference to the issue, according to police reports. Employees said the man, who appears to be in his 70s, visits the station every day to dig through the garbage for cans.

After employees asked the man to stop digging through the garbage, he spit on an employee's car, police reports said. The man was not there when police arrived, but they advised the clerks to call the department again if the person comes back.
