PD: Port Youth Baseball Reports Concession Stand Break-in

Someone attempted to steal from the Port Washington Youth Baseball and Softball booth at Thomas Jefferson Middle School; luckily the group doesn't leave cash behind, but some candy is missing and there are no suspects.

Someone attempted to steal from a concession stand operated by the Port Washington Youth Baseball and Softball, and — while they didn't get away with much — police are still on the lookout for suspects.

At 12:54 p.m. July 24, Organizer Patrick Modjeski called Port Washington police to report a break in at the concession stand building at , 1403 N. Holden St.

Members of the group had visited the school earlier that morning to work on the fields, and noticed glass laying around the stand, Modjeski told police, according to the police report.

Upon arrival, Modjeski and officers noticed that a hasp connected to a wooden window cover on the building was pried open, and the glass behind the wood was smashed to gain access to the building.

Luckily, Modjeski said the group does not keep a cash box in the building in case an incident like this were to occur; however, it did appear that some boxes of candy were missing, according to the police report. Items were also strewn about the building, making it appear that someone was searching for something.

Port Youth Baseball and Softball also has a shed on the property that Modjeski said was broken into the previous Monday, though nothing was stolen.

Anyone with information can call the Port Washington Police Department at 262-284-2611.
