Officers spoke to the boy, telling him to lay still until an ambulance arrived, police reports said. When initially asked what happened, the boy said the last thing he remembered was sleeping.

In speaking with the boy's parents, officers eventually learned that the boy had taken his bike to go to a friend's house, and when he got near Tellos he decided he needed to use the bathroom, the report said. He left his bike at the restaurant with the intention of running to the gas station across the street.
