Police Investigating Another Possible Victim in Bus Driver Case

Since the criminal charges involving a Port Washington school bus driver accused of inappropriately touching students were made public, police received information from another family that their son experienced a similar behavior from Randy Mayer.

The Port Washington police are currently investigating and will be interviewing the additional student, according to a press release from the department. Upon completing that interview, the additional investigation will be forwarded to District Attorney Adam Gerol for his review to decide if any additional charges will be filed.

Mayer, 225 S. Madison Ave., Port Washington, was charged with three felony counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child; he faces up to 180 years of prison if convicted on all three Class B felony counts. The charges are associated with incidents involving two boys, 9 and 10 years old, which took place between Oct. 1-13, 2011. The Port Washington Police Department interviewed 37 students about the allegations, said Police Chief Richard Thomas.
