Port Blotter: It Must Be The Shoes

A roundup of incidents from the Port Washington police reports.

A 17-year-old Port Washington male was chased by security from when he was spotted by security peeking into the sales tent at the shoe store just before 9 p.m. Saturday.

Police officers questioned him at , where the chase ended. No items were stolen.

Then at 2:22 the following morning, two 17-year-olds were warned for harassment after a report was received they were at a bus shelter making hand gestures toward the security guard at Allen Edmonds.

  • The Parks and Recreation Department reported about 1 p.m. June 20 that someone stole a Klement's Sausage banner that was displayed for a pool kickoff party.
  • An unknown person or persons "tagged" a green storage shed at with white paint. The vandalism was reported just before 9 a.m. June 20.
  • A solicitor from South Carolina was warned after a report of her actions in the 500 block of East Foster Street. The 23-year-old woman had a valid solicitor's license, but residents reported that she was very aggressive and also misrepresented benefiting local schools.
  • A 66-year-old Port Washington man was warned for disorderly conduct on Sunday afternoon. It was reported to police that the man was yelling obscenities at a neighbor's dogs, who were barking incessantly. The dog owners also were reminded of the city's "barking dog" ordinance.
