Port PD: Woman Drives Away without Paying for Gas but Leaves Driver’s License

The Port Washington Police Department responded to two calls last week about people stealing gas. In one of the calls, the driver left behind a license, aiding the police in their investigation of the incident.

Mad Max Convenience Store, 1605 N. Wisconsin St.  reported a woman left without paying for $43.14 worth of gasoline Nov. 14 at 8:22 a.m. The car she was driving was described as an older car, dark green in color and possibly a Toyota Camry or similar. The woman had a child with her, according to the report.

A woman left without paying for $35.01 of gasoline but she also left behind her wallet containing an expired driver’s license, according to a call from Tri-Par gas station Nov. 15 at 9:15 a.m. Port police issued a citation to a 29-year-old Cecil woman for the theft of the gasoline.

Car hits pedestrian: Nov. 14 at 12:54 p.m., a 55-year-old Port Washington man reported that he was hit by a vehicle backing out of a driveway while he was walking on the sidewalk in the 500 block of Summit Drive. The vehicle struck his left hip. Police contacted the driver, a 17-year-old teen from Port Washington, and warned him.

School fight: A 17-year-old girl from Fredonia was cited for disorderly conduct after Port Washington High School staff reported an altercation between two students at 7:28 a.m. Nov. 15.

In all incidents where an arrest occurred or a citation was issued, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
