Port Police Report: Hit-and-Run Involves Tree, 'No Parking' Sign

A roundup of the latest activity from the police blotter.

It can be frustrating to find a parking spot in the high-traffic city of Port Washington (right?), but that doesn't mean you need to take it out on the sign — like this guy did.

Police received a report of a city tree that was damaged at 9:29 a.m. Nov. 27 in the 100 block of North Moore Road. When police arrived, they noticed there was also damage to a "no parking" sign; both appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

A couty-wide instruction was sent out to officers to look for any vehicle with damage consistent to such an incident.
