Port Police Report: Officers Bust Up Under Age Hotel Party

A roundup of the most recent activity from the Port Washington Police Department also includes a kid caught with a fake ID and a couple instances of vandalism.

This group of youths experienced a bit of a buzz kill last week when officers showed up at their hotel room after a report of loud noise.

staff called police at 1:40 a.m. July 10 to report loud noise and a possible underage drinking party.

When officers arrived at the hotel, 135 E. Grand Ave., they found a 23-year-old Port man, a 21-year-old West Bend man, two 18-year-old Grafton men and a 16-year-old Saukville girl inside — and yes, they were drinking.

The two Grafton men and the Saukville girl were cited for underage drinking; the West Bend man was cited for loud noise, and the Port man was cited for obstructing an officer. The Port man was also taken into custody for violating his parole.

That's a night not really worth remembering.

More from the reports:

  • Fake ID: If he knew anything about being superstitious, he wouldn't have tried this stunt on Friday the 13th. Police repsonded to a call at 4:44 p.m. Friday from staff after a 16-year-old Port boy attempted to purchase alcohol using a fake ID. He was cited for identification card violation.
  • Vandalism: At 5:59 a.m. July 10, 49-year-old Port woman reported her mailbox had been damaged overnight at her home on Fairview Driver. Later that day, at 8:17 p.m. a Sheboygan man reported damage to four vehicles parked behing , 927 S Spring St.

Well Well Well, why doesn't the Holiday Inn incident doesn't suprise me? I guess if the kids were quiet, they would have not called the police. But I am glad Port was on top of it, and also glad that Ozaukee Sheriff Dept dispatched the call, considering an another incident happened about a month ago with several 15 and 16 yrs and nothing at the time was done about it. Ozaukee Sheriff reasoning: They needed probable cause, hmmm teenagers in a hotel room with no supervision is not probable cause?

What concerns me is, what was a 16 yr old girl doing in a Hotel room with 4 men?

Hmmm, maybe the parents does not have better supervision of the girl? Maybe the parents works? Maybe its a one parent home? Maybe she is the girlfriend of one the 18 yr old men? My question would be, Why would the 16 year old girl go with 4 Men to a hotel? Maybe there were more girls and they left. Maybe she didn't want to go with her friends. Maybe she passed out and her friends left her? All about making and knowing the right CHOICES.

I also love the fact that people were concerned about the 16 yr old being in the hotel. No one said nothing about the UNDERAGE DRINKING that could have cause alot more problems. Why are we having a hard time deterring the drinking fron the young people? I know its a choice, but lets make it harder for them to get. Oh i forgot, this is Wisconsin and its accepted.

"Oh i forgot, this is Wisconsin and its accepted." "The two Grafton men and the Saukville girl were cited for underage drinking"

A decent adult male would have called her a cab or called her parents so she wasn't in that situation. She obviously never saw the 1988 movie with Jodi Foster "The Accused". Parents, time to bust that out on your 16 year old daughters and show them what (some) men can get like with alcohol in a group. She's naive, and bored and our brilliant "abstinence only" emphasized health education in schools doesn't touch on this topic in enough detail, and if the home doesn't, she's screwed as far as preparation for the world. And right, Greg, Wisconsin has the most lax laws imaginable in regard to drinking and behavior, and also drunk driving. It's pretty sad.

Why weren't the adults cited for contributing alcohol to minors or something? Weird, and lame. Why is this okay? Because we're a red county? That's a Conservative, Family value? Or are there truly no laws to prosecute those "adults" against in this case. Well, party on - adults partying with your teenage daughters - that's cool in Oz apparently.

Thank you Jaime for asking the same questions. And seeing what I see. Citation doesn't stop them from drinking..lol
Terry July 19, 2012 at 10:13 AM
What if it was the minor that supplied the alcohol? Aren't we making some assumptions here.
