Port Police Report: School Calls Law Enforcement as Preventative Measure to Bullying

A roundup of the latest activity from the police blotter also includes an open intoxicant citing, vulgar text messages and tips on how to not accidentally dial 911.

Port Washington-Saukville school officials got law enforcement involved in hopes of preventing bullying after a social media-inspired incident between students at , 1403 N. Holden St.

Thomas Jefferson staff called the at 2 p.m. March 26 after a 12-year-old boy reported a student had made comments about him on Facebook.

In the Facebook comments, the 12-year-old said that the other student threatened to beat him up.

School staff told police they wanted law enforcement presence while talking to the student about bullying.

Police also visited the , 427 W. Jackson St., at 11:51 a.m. March 29 after a 16-year-old boy threw his milk and lunch tray at another student.

The 16-year-old was cited for disorderly conduct and also suspended.

Police received a call at 9:40 a.m. March 27 of a vehicle heading into Port Washington in which an occupant appeared to be drinking beer. When police located the vehicle, they found a 54-year-old Saukville man inside as well as evidence of the report. He was cited for open intoxicants-passenger.

Police spoke to a 42-year-old Saukville man after a report was received from a 53-year-old Port woman of vulgar text messages he was sending. The man said he had sent the messages out of frustration, and promised to be more civil in the future.
  • When taking your clothes off ... Empty your pockets, first. That's the message this Port Washington woman got from police after a hang-up 911 call at 9 a.m. March 26. When police arrived at her address in the 1600 block of Parknoll Lane after the 911 call, they realized there was no error. In reality, the woman had dialed 911 on accident while changing her pants. When inquiring how to prevent this she was told to take the phone out of her pocket before changing.
