Port Police Report: Suspicious WiFi User Picked Up on Warrant Arrest

A roundup of the latest activity from the police blotter.

It was a lack of password protection on a local WiFi service that inevitably lead to the arrest of this 23-year-old Allenton man.

Port Washington police recieved a call at 3 p.m. Friday about a suspicious vehicle that had been parking in a lot in the 1000 block of Westport Drive for long periods of time over the last couple weeks.

Police visited the lot and found the 23-year-old man sitting in his car to use his computer. The man was able to connect to an unsecured WiFi network while sitting in the lot.

In checking the man's ID, police realized there was a warrant out for his arrest with the West Bend Police Department.

He was taken into custody.

After waking the 42-year-old Campbellsport man, police learned he had had too much to drink and was waiting for his wife to finish her third shift job and pick him up.

The man said he had been struck in the face outside of , 114 N. Franklin St. The suspects are unknown, but police are following up with the bar to find out what happened.
  • Just can't move on: Breakups are rarely mutual β€” and it doesn't seem to have been the case for this long ago couple either. A 22-year-old Port Washington woman called police at 1:33 a.m. Jan. 3 after continuing to recieve communication from a 23-year-old Whitewater man through one of their mutual friends. Police spoke to the 23-year-old, and learned he is an ex-boyfriend from two years ago. They were both advised not to contact one another in any way.Β
