Port Washington Police Report: Girlfriend Gives Boyfriend's Account Number to Scam Collection Agency

A 26-year-old Whitefish Bay woman reported a money scam at 2 p.m. Feb. 28 after she gave her boyfriend's debit card number to a caller from a "collection agency" regarding credit card debt.

The alleged collection agency called the woman's cell phone while she was visiting her dad in his Port Washington home.

The money withdrawal was found to be a scam, and the bank credited the money, so that there was no loss.

  • Puffing the time away: Police cited two 15-year-old boys, one from Port Washington and the other from Saukville, at 11:56 a.m. Feb. 28 after spotting the pair smoking cigarettes on the stairsΒ  at North Montgomery Street near West Main Street. Both were cited for using prohibited tobacco.
  • Who dialed 911? Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of West Walters Street after receiving a hang-up 911 call at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday. The 87-year-old Port woman was warned for misuse of an emergency system even though she claimed she did not make the call nor live at the residence.
