Port Washington Police Report: Internet Scams, Broken Windows and Mistaken Calls

Here's the latest from the Port Washington police blotter.

A 39-year-old Port Washington man reported an Internet scam at 12:08 p.m. Friday.  

He told police that a woman requested to send packages to his Fairview Drive address, packages that he was to send to her later in Nigeria.  After receiving several packages and realizing this was part of a scam, he contacted the company to return the merchandise and then notified the police.

  • They all fall down: At 1:53 a.m. Saturday, a 23-year-old West Bend man was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.  He had charged after another patron at Foxy’s tavern and then lost his balance.  While the customer tried to keep the man upright, both fell and broke a window at the bar.
  • Out of town and out of service: A 39-year-old Arizona man was spoken to regarding the misuse of emergency services after he had dialed 911 three times on Saturday.  The man told police this was a mistake and that he was trying to contact his phone company.
