Port Washington Police Report: License Plate Thief Makes a Move

A roundup of the latest from the police blotter.

Police responded to a report at 6:26 p.m. Tuesday that someone had stolen the license plates off an Oldsmobile, parked in the apartment complex lot near the 1300 block of Sunset Road.

The 46-year-old Port Washington man said he had last seen the plates on his car on Saturday.

  • How many texts does it take? Police visited a 38-year-old Port Washington woman at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at her home in the 1300 block of North Benjamin Street after she reported receiving 91 unwanted text messages from a man in Millbrook, AL. The woman had given the man her phone number in an online chatroom. Police advised her to change her number.
  • Give me that back: At 7:40 p.m. Thursday, police visited a home in the 300 block of East Norport Drive, where a 29-year-old Port Washington woman and a 22-year-old Port Washington man were at a disagreement about the removal of some of the woman's property. The two were told the issue was a civil matter and they needed to find an agreement on their own. Both were issued a warning for disorderly conduct.
