Port Washington Police Report: Resident Claims Possible Bear in Yard

A roundup of the latest activity from the police blotter.

Police responded to a call at 7:15 p.m. Saturday from a Port Washington resident in the 900 block of Sunset Road.

The woman said she might have seen a black bear by her home.

Police searched the area and no signs of a bear were found.

  • Where's the vodka? The reported a bottle of vodka missing at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Suspects were spoken to regarding the missing booze, but no proof was found.
  • That's an ankle biter:Β  Police recieved a call from the 200 block of Norport Drive about a man who was bitten by a dog. The man had been out on a walk with his wife, when the dog β€” who was on an extremely long leash β€” lashed out and bit the man in his ankle. Police issued a citation for vicious dog to the 32-year-old Port man who owned the animal.
