Port Washington Police Report: When Dirty Diapers Don't Do the Trick

Something about a soggy, wet diaper just isn't quite gross enough for some people.

Port Washington police responded to a report of vandalism and attempted theft at 11:25 a.m. Thursday at 623 W. Grand Ave.

Bank officials stated that during , several soiled diapers were placed in the fountain at the bank. There have also been several attempts to steal the water pump out of the fountain.

The question still remains: Who would want the water pump after it's been covered with soiled diapers?

Police found the damage to be consistent with running over an object of some sort.

  • Biker returns on foot: Police recovered a blue girl's bike at the at 2:35 p.m. July 25. It is still being held at the Port Washington Police Department.
  • Missing your keys? Your nail clipper? A set of keys found near the bandshell in on July 22 and turned in at the was reported to the police department at 8:35 a.m. July 28. The key belongs to a Jeep with keyless entry, and also includes a house key and nail grooming kit in a leather pouch. The keychain is at the police department.
