Road Rage Lands Woman Disorderly Conduct Ticket

The woman yelled profanities to the other car while passing it in the parking lane in downtown Port Washington.

A road rage incident in Port Washington's downtown ended with a disorderly conduct citation for one driver involved.

Port Washington police received a call at 2:15 p.m. May 20 about a driver eastbound on West Grand Avenue near The Chocolate Chisel that had yelled profanities at him and his wife while driving, according to police reports.

The caller said the driver passed them in the parking lane and then yelled, "Why don't you drive, mother (expletive)," according to the report. The caller said the vehicle "sped" around them and that a pedestrian had to jump back onto the curb to avoid being hit.

The caller was able to provide a license plate number, the report said. Police could not find the car but did follow up with the driver, who is from West Bend. The driver told police that the caller had pulled out in front of her and then proceeded at a speed of 20 mph. She admitted to driving in the parking lane and yelling, "learn how to drive."

Police explained to the West Bend woman she would be receiving a disorderly conduct ticket, the report said. The woman argued with officers over the phone about the ticket, upset that the callers were not being cited.
