Saukville Man Allegedly Caught With Marijuana in Milwaukee

Suspect is busted after a Milwaukee police officer on a bicycle smells marijuana comnig from inside the car when he opens the door.

A 33-year-old Saukville man is facing felony charges after a Milwaukee police officer found marijuana inside his car on the north side of the city.

Demetrius Donte Chambers was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Saturday with one count of second offense possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 3-Β½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

On Wednesday, Chambers was getting out of his car in the 1900 block of West Hampton Avenue when a nearby Milwaukee police officer on bicycle patrol smelled fresh marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The officer asked Chambers if he had anything illegal in the car and he said he had a baggie of marijuana in the center console.

Officers found 1.23 grams of marijuana and placed Chambers under arrest.

According to court records, Chambers was previously convicted of marijuana possession three times before and twice on cocaine possession charges. He will make his initial appearance in court Tuesday.Β
