At 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Mequon police officer spotted Rauch sitting on a retaining wall in the 11900 block of North Port Washington Road and decided to stop to see what he was doing. Rauch told the officer he was walking home from Bayshore Mall and when the officer offered to give him a ride, Rauch agreed.
However, the officer soon found Rauch had warrants out for his arrest. Upon searching him, the officer found the mushrooms, a pipe used for smoking drugs and 18 Lithium pills.
