UPDATE: Services for Saukville Crash Victim to be Held Saturday

Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the one-vehicle crash that killed Sara Pujanauski of the town of Saukville on Saturday morning.

A 19-year-old town of Saukville woman is dead after a one-vehicle crash in the town of Fredonia early Saturday morning.

A memorial near the crash site has been started with flowers and some personal effects. Visitation and a funeral mass will be held Saturday at Divine Savior Parish, Holy Cross Chapel in Holy Cross, according to an obituary published in Tuesday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Police pronounced Sara Pujanauski dead at the scene of the one-vehicle crash on County Highway I and Belgium Kohler Road on Saturday morning, according to dispatch.

Police received the call at 6:04 a.m. Saturday. Investigating officers say Pujanauski was driving a silver 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, traveling southbound on Hwy. I. For an unknown reason, she veered sharply left, leaving the road to the east, dispatchers said. The vehicle struck several trees before rolling over.

According to Facebook, Pujanauski graduated from Ozaukee High School in 2011, and attended Vici Beauty School in Milwaukee.

The incident is still under investigation as of Tuesday morning, and police are unsure whether Pujanauski was wearing a seatbelt.

Yikes - I happened to ride my bike past the scene of this accident early Saturday morning. Saw the overturned car in the ditch and the tire tracks leading up to it. Police and emergency vehicles were already at the scene. Had no idea someone had died in the accident. My prayers go out to her and her family.

In the picture there is a shoe. If that was one of here shoes that she was wearing, that is so insensitive and disgraceful. Placing things of this tragedy at the memorial is just so inhuman and disrespectful of the family during this terrible loss. Have a heart and soul, leave this kind of memory to the investigators - nit her family and friends -- PLEASE!

One comment has been deleted from this string due to a profanity. I understand the passion that this sort of tragedy provokes but please refrain from that kind of language. Thank you.

You didn't know Sara so who are you to say what is inhuman? She always has clothes and shoes in her car. She was all about shoes and clothes so why can't they put some at the site? If it hurt the people that knew her Im pretty sure we would have taken it away but it was left there for a reason obviously. It's insensitive and disgraceful for you be to saying that stuff about her friends and family.

Erika, I was a lot more sensitive to this tragedy than you may read. Do you know what it is like to have to be an EMT and deal with tragic deaths of young people like Sara? Just to let you know how sensitive I was to this tragedy, I attended her funeral on Saturday and made a repectful donation to her family both through the animal shelter for her pets and directly to Sue and Matt. I heard how she was known to like not wearing her shoes on trips - and would eventually complain about half way through them that her feet hurt. Sue would then give her her shoes to wear. I apologize for my comment. May Sara rest in peace and her memories be held close in your hearts.
