Stores Report 2 Gas Drive-Offs in Port

Port Washington police responded to two instances of pump drive-offs since last Monday.

Two area gas stations reported pump drive-offs to the Port Washington Police Department in separate instances on May 9 and 11.

Police visited the convenience store, 1100 S. Spring St., after the clerk reported a drive-off of $8.10 worth of gas.

The clerk at the station said it was a smaller red car, but no other information has been obtained on the suspect or their vehicle.

Police had a little more luck when responding to a second drive-off at 1 p.m. Wednesday, where a 44-year-old Amherst woman did not pay for her gas from , 1880 N. Wisconsin St.

A Fredonia marshall pulled the woman over further down the road, and the Fredonia Police Department handled the case.
