Thefts from Cars Continue

Police responded to several thefts from vehicles in a roundup from the last week's police reports.

Police responded to several calls of thefts, or entries to vehicles, as reported in the police reports:

  • 10:23 a.m. June 24: A 47-year-old resident reported loose change and a wedding ring stolen from her unlocked vehicle while parked overnight in the 900 bock of Fairview Drive.
  • 2:21 p.m. June 26: A 62-year-old Port resident reported $15 to $20 in coins being taken from his vehicle.
  • 4:16 p.m. June 25: Nothing to take this time, but a 44-year-old Port man reported someone had entered his vehicle the night before. Nothing was missing.
  • 9:41 p.m. June 27: A resident in the 1100 block of Crestview reported cash and coins missing from her mother's vehicle parked unlocked overnight.
This has been an issue in summer's past: more than 30 thefts from unlocked vehicles were reported between May and August 2011.
