Anglers' Donation Will Help Make Port Breakwall Safer

The Great Lake Sport Fishermen has donated enough money to help the city purchase new ladders and life rings for Port Washington's breakwater.

A donation from the Great Lakes Sport Fishermen will help the city purchase new ladders and life rings for the Port Washington breakwater, the Ozaukee Press reports.

The deteriorating breakwater, which currently doesn’t have any life rings and has ladders in disrepair that don’t reach the surface of the water, was the topic of a meeting with Congressman Tom Petri city officials held last week, the Press writes.

City officials hope to secure federal funding to help in upgrades on the breakwater, according to the Press.
