Help Port's Library Celebrate 50 Years

The library will be celebrating 50 years as the and also 50 years with a dedicated library building on Grand Avenue in Port Washington.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the library expansion in 2001 and also 113th year of library service in Port Washington which got its start back in 1898. 
The celebration, festivities and author talk will take place at noon Nov. 13 at , 350 E. Seven Hills Rd., in Port Washington. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for refreshments and socializing.  

A luncheon will be served and will include a choice of entrees. Please call the library (262 284-5031) or stop in, to reserve your spot at the celebration. Please be ready to provide the names of all attending as well as each guest’s choice of entrees. RSVP by Nov. 5.

After lunch, guest author Wendy Webb will be speaking about her breakout novel, "The Tale of Halcyon Crane," a modern gothic tale taking place on a remote island in the middle of the Great Lakes. Webb’s weaving of the tale takes the main character back to her birthplace, a fictitious Mackinaw Island, to discover her family’s heritage and the dark secret of why she had to leave in the first place. The past meshes with the present in this exciting, haunting novel.

Book signing will follow the end of the program. Books are available now for checkout and for purchase. Books will also be available for purchase at the celebration.  This event is sponsored by the Friends of the W.J. Niederkorn Library.
