Grothman Recall Organizers Have New Locations to Sign Petitions

With the passage of the budget repair bill, residents are opening their homes to gather signatures to recall GOP senator.

The passage of Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill last week may have been a shot in the arm to efforts to recall Republican state Sen. Glenn Grothman.

Richard Schwalb, the local coordinator of the effort, said there are two new locations where individuals may sign petitions.

Karel Flynn and Stewart Seidel of Port Washington will open their home at 222 W. Walters St. to supporters between 10 a.m. and noon, and 2 and 4 p.m. on March 26 and 27. Also, Jerry and Kathy LeMahieu, of 429 Westport Dr., will be providing a location for residents to sign petitions this week between 5:30 and 9:00 p.m.

Schwalb said that since the passage of the bill last Thursday there has been increased support for the cause.

“It seems to have motivated many people to get involved with the recall against Sen. Glenn Grothman,” he said.

Although there are more locations to collect signatures in Ozaukee, Sheboygan, and Washington Counties this week, Schwalb said volunteers are still being sought to expand the effort.
