  • How long have you lived in Port Washington and what do you most enjoy about the city? We moved to Port just over 8 years ago. We were drawn to the beauty of the city with the lake and hills. The downtown shops and multiple restaurant choices also factored into our decision.
  • Where have you lived before Port? Where were you born? I was born in Janesville, but grew up in the LaCrosse area.  I graduated from Onalaska High School and UW-LaCrosee.  I moved to the Milwaukee area in 92 for my first job.  Before we moved to Port I lived in Grafton and on the NorthWest side of Milwaukee.
  • What drew you to Port to begin with? The harbor walk, the lake and the terrain (hills).
  • What do you think the biggest issues this city faces are? The balance between being able to spend money for improvements or repairs and taxes.  We have a beautiful, vibrant community and many positive changes have and are taking place.  There are many suggestions that would be awesome to implement, but keeping the residents and the tax rate in mind, it isn't prudent to do.
  • How do you hope to instill positive change in the city?  By being open to input from the residents of the community and utilizing their talents (volunteer), we can find solutions.  Always looking to improve and maybe try something different could yield the result we are looking for at a cost we can afford.  I want to work toward making Port Washington "The Place" to be
  • Family life: My spouse is Jennifer and 7-year-old son Jake (JD) are here in Port. My daughter, Kierra, graduated from PWHS and is living in South Carolina.
  • What is your day job? I am a Facility Manager for Curt G. Joa, Inc. in Sheboygan Falls.
  • Anything else? I coach youth sports (basketball and baseball). I play volleyball, basketball and I am an avid golfer. JD and I like to work outside gardening and tending to the yard.

Rudser as well as newcomer Bill Driscoll (3rd District) will be sworn in as aldermen during the Common Council meeting at 7:30 p.m. April 16 at Port Washington City Hall.
