UPDATED: Roads Still Slippery Friday Morning, But Still no Accidents

Winter is back. Snowblowers, shovels and car scrapers have been out in full force, and that includes plenty of hours put in by the Port Washington plow crews.

The plow crew remained on duty for most of the evening on Thursday, getting back to work back bright and early at 2 a.m. Friday, Port Washington Street Commissioner Dave Ewig said late Thursday afternoon.

Ozaukee County dispatchers did not report any major accidents Thursday night or Friday morning (as of 6:30 a.m.) in connection with the weather, but warned drivers to continue to be cautious as roads there are some slippery patches out there.

The storm may not have quite brought the predicted 7 inches, but at least it showed up this time.

The National Weather Service calls for a 50 percent chance that the snow continues on Friday, with minimal accumulation but also a high near 23 — meaning it's likely that what we've got will stick around this time.
