Repairs on Breakwater Likely Won't Start for 2 Years

During inspections on June 11, the Army Corps of Engineers labeled Port Washington's the worst on this side of the Lake Michigan.

The Army Corps of Engineers says it has inspected of every structure on this side of Lake Michigan and Port Washington’s “breakwalls are clearly, clearly the worst,” the Ozaukee Press reports.

That was said after Army Corps officials inspected the breakwater on June 11. Officials said the status of the breakwater has been changed from "action needed soon" to "immediate action needed," the Press reports.

However, repairs will likely not start for two years because of funding and authorizations needed, the Press reports.
