Residents Petition Town to Lower Speed on Hillcrest in Saukville

The village of Saukville Public Safety Committee will discuss residents' concerns on Thursday night.

Town of Saukville residents are worried about the unmarked 55 mph speed limit along Hillcrest Road when traveling into the village.

Residents say the speed should be reduced to 35 mph, according to an Ozaukee Press article, and have presented a petition asking for such changes to the town of Saukville board. Cars reach up to 100 mph in the rural area, endangering residents, they say.

The stretch of road eventually connects with Highway 33 in Saukville, near the fire department, where the speed limit is posted as 25 mph. The village of Saukville Public Safety Committee will discuss the issue at a meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Saukville Police Department.
