Saukville Consolidates Permit Services with Grafton

Saukville will pay Grafton a monthly $500 fee for the building inspection services.

Saukville residents seeking building, electrical and plumbing permits will soon have to apply in Grafton as part of an effort by village officials to save money.

Residents will still be able to get permit forms at the Saukville Village Hall and online, but they should direct questions to the Village of Grafton Inspection Department, which will conduct the inspections. The consolidated services starts Monday, and residents will use Grafton's fee scale for permits.

Saukville will receive the money from permits, but the village will give 60 percent of the permit fee revenue to Grafton; Saukville will also pay Grafton $500 per month and a one-time $350 fee to cover Saukville's share of the building permitting system.
