Special Election Set in Race for 60th Assembly District Spot

Area residents have announced candidacy for spot vacated by Mark Gottlieb.

A special election is set for May 3 to determine which candidate will take hold of the seat as the state representative for the 60th Assembly District.

Gov. Scott Walker announced the special election, which needs to be filled now that Mark Gottlieb is well into his position in Walker's cabinet as transportation secretary.

If more than three candidates file for the seast, a primary election will be held during the general elections on April 5 to narrow the field of candidates to two.

Nomination papers are due no later than 5 p.m. March 8 to the Government Accountability Board.
