Voter Trends: Romney Wins in Port and Saukville, Too

Mitt Romney took 54 percent of area residents' votes in the Republican presidential primary election — meaning more people support Romney in Port, Saukville than statewide.

The results are in, and it looks like Port Washington and Saukville are filled with Mitt Romney supporters.

In total, 3,802 votes were cast by Port and Saukville residents in , and Romney won more than half of those voters' support — taking about 54 percent of the vote.

In fact, Romney did significantly better in the area than he did statewide. The Associated Press reports that he won Wisconsin with 42.5 percent of the vote, while Rick Santorum took about 37 percent.

There were also 111 votes for President Barack Obama in Saukville, as well as 638 in Port.

When compared to the 2008 Republican presidential primary, this year's numbers are huge. Only 559 people came out to vote for John McCain in 2008, with Mike Huckabee coming in second with 312 votes.
