UPDATE: Voter Turnout Around 10% in Port, Saukville

With just more than five hours left until the polls close for the special election for the 60th Assembly District seat, Port Washington Deputy Clerk Susan Westerbeke said the city sits at about 9 percent voter turnout.

"We are anticipating between 10 to 11 percent by the end of the election day at 8:00 p.m.," she said in a e-mail. "This is about the turnout we were expecting. I could see with the lower level of absentee ballot requests that we were going to probably have a lower turnout."

In Saukville, voter turnout is already at 10 percent, and village officials are expecting to see that number climb, at least a little.

"We are at about 10 percent now," Mary K. Baumann, deputy clerk for the village, said in an e-mail. "Based on that I don't expect to go over 15 to 17 percent."

Two candidates remain in the race for the seat that has been empty to become transportation secretary for Gov. Scott Walker, including .

Voters can head to their regular polling places to cast their ballots until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In Port Washington, there are three polling locations available for voting, based on which ward you live in: Wards 1 and 11 vote at , 1403 N. Holden St.; Wards 6, 7 and 8 vote at , 1243 W. Lincoln Ave.; and Wards 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and vote at , 100 W. Grand Ave. If you are not sure which ward you belong to, call the City Hall at (262) 284-5585.

Saukville consists of eight wards, and all wards vote at the American Legion, 601 W. Dekora St.
