UPDATE: We Energies Suspects Faulty Cable in Power Outage

Power restored to the 2,600 Port Washington residents affected Saturday night as We Energies officials still work to find the location of the problem.

About 2,600 customers were affected by a momentary power loss in Port Washington on Saturday night, and We Energies officials are still working to find the exact cause.

Cathy Schulze of We Energies said the company suspects an equipment problem and was working to find a faulty cable that is likely the cause of the problem.

In the meantime, officials were able to reroute electricity to customers in the area, restoring power by about 9 p.m. Saturday.
