FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PWCBI Files Application With the FCC

PORT WASHINGTON, Wisconsin (October 18, 2013) –   Port Washington Community Broadcasting, Inc. is pleased to announce that at 6pm on October 18, group President Bill Lundgren completed final engineering and legal reviews of the group’s FCC Form 318, and electronically submitted it for consideration by the commission.

“To say we’re excited is an understatement,” Lundgren said.  “We’ve been working toward this goal for nearly two full years, and to finally have the day here is wonderful.”

Although the filing is a giant leap forward for the group, there is still a lot of work to do.

“Now we have to wait to see of our application is accepted by the FCC.  If it is, we’ll then be granted a construction permit which will give us the legal ability to begin building the station and buying transmission equipment.  From the date the permit is granted, we’ll have 18 months to get the station on the air.”

The group can now start fundraising in earnest, remodeling the building they procured at 127 E Washington St to create production studios, and designing programming schedules.

“The work won’t be done for a long time, and volunteers are going to be needed for every facet of this effort moving forward.  The real celebration will be the day we’re able to throw the switch, and see Port Washington have a radio station of its’ own once again.”
