For Sale: Fresh Apple Pie, Minus the Hassle

Ozaukee Christian School has made 3,000 apple pies to be frozen for later use as part of its 6th annual Dutch Pie Sale; the pies go on sale Tuesday.

Volunteers met early Saturday morning to help make 3,000 pies to benefit .Β

The 6th annual Dutch Apple Pie Sale will open for the public at 2 p.m. Tuesday, and last until 7 p.m., or until pies run out. While 3,000 pies were made, some were pre-ordered, diminishing the "up-for-grabs" supply.

The pies are frozen, and are said to be "from freezer to oven to table in two hours," according to the event's website. The pies also use fresh orchard apples.
