Port Students Score Above State ACT Average

Port Washington 2013 graduates scored higher than both the state and national averages on the ACT.

Students at Port Washington High School who took the ACT this year scored higher than both the state average and the national average.

Port students come in with a composite score of 23.3; the state average is 22.1. In 2012, Port students scored an average of 23.7.

Overall, Wisconsin tied Iowa to take the number two spot in the nation, according to a press release from State Superintendent Tony Evers.

The state average is 22.1, which is higher than the national average of 20.9.

About 71 percent of Wisconsin's 2013 graduates took the ACT. in the Port Washington-Saukville School District, the percentage was 67.6 percent. Out of the 213 seniors in school, 144 of them participated in the ACT.

Participation in ACT testing is expected to increase when Wisconsin adopts the ACT as part of its statewide assessment.
