Port Washington High School to Host Madrigal Dinner

The Cedar Beach Inn will be the site of this year's annual event.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye!

It’s that time of year again as Port Washington High School will be putting on their 11th Madrigal Dinner, a "romp through the Renaissance, complete with dancing, music, mayhem and a magnificent meal,” according to the high school.

The dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Cedar Beach Inn, 231 Cedar Beach Rd., Belgium.

The Port Washington High School would like it guests to “step back in time with us and enjoy the exciting sights, the beautiful sounds, the tantalizing aromas. You will thrill at the talents, the skills and the bravery of a cast of over 100 performers,” according to information from the school.

The Madrigal dinner will include a five-course Renaissance festival meal prepared by master chefs. The dinner will be served by pages and wenches in a 14th-century banquet hall with all the pageantry and elegance one would expect.

The choir director and man in charge of the Madrigal Dinner event is Dennis Gephart, the voice department chairman at Port Washington High School. His group “Limited Edition” makes a regular scheduled appearance at the dinner that includes an award-winning performance. The group is nationally recognized, finishing first in a Midwest semi-final competition in this year and will be competing at the national level in New York City this spring.

Tickets are on sale at the High Port Washington High School Office or by calling the office at 262-268-5500. The cost is $27 per person or $30 per person for preferred front row priority seating. Seating will be available on a first response basis

All forms of request must be made by Thursday, Nov. 22, or they will not be processed.

The Cedar beach Inn is located in Belgium, Wisconsin and is about a 20 minute drive from Port Washington High School. The Inn is only 1/2 block from Harrington Beach on Lake Michigan. They are a family-run, full-service banquet and wedding facility located on 4.5 beautiful, park-like acres according to their website.
