Shop Port, Think Local: New Port Shores

Get to know the local businesses that are part of the Shop Port, Think Local initiative.

For the next several weeks  wants to introduce you to some of our local businesses. We want to spotlight a new business each week and show you something that makes them special.

This week, we hear from waterfront restaurant

New Port Shores is located on the shores of Lake Michigan. Enjoy great views of the marina while you dine at one of America’s favorite seafood dives, as chosen by Coastal Living Magazine.  New Port Shores has been a hotspot on the lakefront since opening in November of 1989.

The restaurant recently added patio seating, which is available seasonally. During the summer, it hosts live music on Saturday nights on its outdoor stage. The stage hosts local and national acts and is always a big draw to the already busy restaurant.

A full service bar and dining is always available during these events. New Port Shores is a cornerstone of the Port Washington marina, and many Lake Michigan travelers dock in Port Washington just to get a cup of their famous baked French onion soup.  The quality of food and service are always so outstanding that it keeps visitors to the area coming back for more.   Check out their website for hours and a full menu.  Also, if you have a hankering for their soups you can purchase the French onion, seafood chowder, and chili in the deli department at Sanfilippo’s Sentry.
