Boys Third, Girls Fifth at NSC Track Meet

Three Pirate girls win individual events.

Port Washington's Payton Greisch held off two rivals with a finishing kick to win the North Shore Conference title in the 400 meters on Tuesday at Cedarburg.

Greisch's winning time was 1:00.31. Also capturing victories for the Port Washington girls were Emma Shelander in the triple jump and Marly Trier in the discus. The girls finished fifth with 79.5 points. Full boys and girls meet results are here.

The Pirates boys were third with 69.5 points despite not having an individual champion; Homestead ran away with the meet with 186.33 points.

Port Washington was second in the 3,200 relay and third in the 1,600 relay. Joe McIlree and Jonathan Scheel were on both squads. Jared Sandlin finished third in both the 800 and the 1,600.

Both teams participate Monday in the Sheboygan North regional.
