Pirates Meet Rival Grafton in Girls Basketball Tournament

Pirates drew No. 5 seed in WIAA Division 2 regional

It will be the shortest of bus rides for the Port Washington girls basketball team on March 8, when the Pirates visit Grafton in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 tournament.

The Pirates are a No. 5 seed and take on the No. 4 Blackhawks in Grafton. The Pirates did not fare well when the teams played in Grafton earlier this year; the Blackhawks won 53-28. Port Washington hosts Grafton in the final conference game on Thursday.

Port Washington (11-9, 5-8 NSC) spreads the scoring around; five players net between 5.3 and 7.8 points per game, according to WisSports.net.

The winner of the Port Washington-Grafton matchup faces No. 1 seed West Bend East on March 11.
