1860 Light Station Open for Tours

The 1860 Light Station & Museum is at 311 Johnson Street in Port Washington atop St. Mary's Hill.  It has been restored and serves as a museum depicting the life of a light keep family in the 19th century. Visitors tour the living quarters and the light tower that includes a spectacular view of Lake Michigan. The former generator room has additional museum exhibits that feature historic Port Washington artifacts.

 

Museum season is from May through October with the hours:

The Museum is open year round for group tours by appointment.
