Lead the Way at the Light Station

Port Washington Historic 1860 Light Station opens its doors to the public every weekend, but is looking for volunteer guides so it can do more.

The Port Washington Historical Society is for the city's Historic 1860 Light Station and museum. The museum is currently open for tours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, as well as by appointment; Kathie Gordon, tour guide coordinator for the museum, said they are looking for tour guides during those hours as well as other hours that the person might be available.

Check out the attached photo gallery from Local Editor Lyssa Beyer's visit to the station for a preview look at what the tour is all about; check out the light station's website for some before and after pictures during the restoration.
