Saukville Business to Hold Cancer Research Fundraiser

American Cancer Society's 'Bark for Life' gives a chance for canine involvement in finding a cure.

Saukville business is teaming up with the American Cancer Society this month for a chance for you, and your canine companion, to raise money for cancer research.

The annual Bark for Life in southeastern Wisconsin, essentially the ACS Relay for Life with inclusion for dogs, will be held this year on July 15 at Dawgs in Motion for the first time. And according to Dawgs in Motion owner Sue Richison, there's still time to get involved.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an opening ceremony at noon, beginning the mile walk. The event, which is being sponsored by local businesses, will also include a DJ, silent auction and some demonstrations.

According to the event website, by Saturday morning, 65 participants from eight teams had already raised over $5,300 for the fundraiser.

Dawgs in Motion is also holding a bake sale next week, Tuesday through Thursday, and the day of the event, hoping to contribute a little bit extra to the fundraising effort.
