United Way Kicks Off 'Sweet' Campaign
United Way of Northern Ozaukee debuted its newest campaign Tuesday morning at the Port Washington Police Department, with a sweet incentive and an ambitious goal.
Saukville Village President and United Way board member Barb Dickmann calls it the "most ambitious campaign" ever.
After raising $191,000 during its campaign last year, United Way of Northern Ozaukee is aiming even higher, hoping to come up with $200,000 out of this year's campaign.
UWNO benefits programs and initiatives in Port Washington, Saukville, Belgium and Fredonia, and has been working to support these communities for 61 years, said Ron Voigt, the vice president of the campaign.

This year the campaign involves chocolate bars, designed and created at . The bars will be sold in businesses in Ozaukee County for $8 each, and anyone interested in selling the bars can contact the group at 262-284-8098 for information.
Another way to help is by individual donations, which can be made on the organization's website.

"We have a stretch goal for ourselves," Executive Director of United Way of Northern Ozaukee Barbara Bates-Nelson said, adding that the group is confident the community will pull through to help it meet its goal; 85 cents of every dollar goes back to the community.
Organizations that benefit from the campaign include: Family Sharing of Ozaukee County, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Ozaukee County Jail Literacy Program, Balance, Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County and more.
